International Design – Fashion

You are visual, curious and love clothes and fashion. You have a good grip of trends, and you have drawing skills and find it easy to express yourself visually. You think about clothes and fashion 24 hours a day. No matter where you are, you notice what people wear, and you have an opinion about cut, shape, and colour.

About Education

This speciality will qualify you to function as a design assistant in a development department within the fashion industry. Throughout the 4 semesters you will acquire knowledge of trends, development of ideas, materials and product development making you able to carry out a design process from the first idea to the finished fashion product.
The course programme focusses on providing you with skills in preparing a graphic and visual material as well as presenting and arguing in favour of your ideas. You will be up-dated on the development within design and the line of business.

Learning style

You will sketch on paper but also work with computer programmes such as Photoshop and Illustrator. You will create your styles on industrial machines in the workroom.
The course programme will enable you to take part in interdisciplinary work. Through work experience you will form close relations to the business expanding your own network and strengthening your cv.

Job opportunities

You may form part of a design team in a company that develops products and accessories for the fashion and life style sectors.
There are possibilities in for example a:

• Design company within clothing
• Design company within accessories
• Commercial company as product support in a purchasing department
• Trend agency, fashion magazine, or TV/theatre

Where to study?

AP Degree un Bachelor:

1. Angļu valoda pieņemamā līmenī,
2. Vidusskolas atestāts.

Bachelor Top-up:

1. International Design – Fashion AP degree diplomams (2 gadi),
2. iegūti vismaz 120 kredītpunkti (120 ECTS) no iepriekšējās izglītības iestādes atbilstošā studiju virzienā,
3. 1. līmeņa augstākās izglitības diplomas,
4. pabeigtai cita līdzvērtīga izglītības programma.

Pieteikšanās:

Pieteikšanās notiek līdz 15. martam, pēc tam līdz pat 1. jūlijam var pieteikties uz brīvajām studiju vietām!

Pieteikšanās notiek nosūtot sekojošus dokumentus:

1. pieteikuma anketu (lejupladēt anketu),
2. motivācijas vēstule angļu valodā (plašāk lasi šeit),
3. vidusskolas pēdējās liecības kopju vai sekmju izrakstu, ja tu šobrīd studē vai esi beidzis studijas augstskolā (plašāk lasi šeit),
4. dokuments par angļu valodas zināšanām (plašāk lasi šeit),
5. pases kopija.
