Whether you dream of a career in a global company or starting up your own business, Business Economics and Information Technology will give you a solid base of innovative thinking on which to build your future.
The programme is a Bachelor’s degree lasting 3½ years and has been developed in close cooperation with the IT industry. This means that you will acquire knowledge and competences in high demand by trade and industry.
The IT industry is searching for profiles who understand how to run a company and combine this with knowledge about information technology. To meet this, this programme provides you with an insight into developing IT systems as well as knowledge about finance, management and organisational development. These competences will allow you – through the use of information technology – to influence and improve how a company runs its operations because you can develop IT solutions that make sense in terms of finance, organisation and information technology.
The following are examples of IT solutions that could enhance the operations of a company or improve its financial results:
- How to integrate users when developing a new IT system so as to meet their needs?
- How to design an IT system so that the users can understand the system and its functionalities?
- How information technology can support specific functions and departments of a company (for example customer systems, financial management systems, warehouse management systems and HR systems)?
The programme will provide you with competences in relation to both finance and information technology to make you qualified for a job where you will act as the link between the staff in departments such as logistics, sales, HR and finance on the one side and the IT department on the other. The job could be an in-house function or the link between client and supplier.
