graphic design, visual communication and the design of interior
Perhaps you already have your own small business? Perhaps you’re dreaming of starting a business? Or perhaps you just can’t help being creative? No matter what the reason, we’ll give you the tools to make your ideas a reality and live your dreams.
E-Designer is a programme for those who are interested in Entrepreneurship and design, and who can identify with words like idea generation, design processes, societal developments and trends, innovation and business.
On the E-Designer programme, you will learn to develop, produce and distribute design with the aid of Information Technology. You will study graphic design, visual communication as well as the design of space and interiors.
You will learn about the creative and innovative aspects of e-design and how to protect and market your designs both nationally and internationally.
The main purpose of the course is to give you the training to be capable of connecting a company’s design projects with the process: from design to production and on to delivery. This means that, as an E-Designer, you must both think creatively and have a solid understanding of business.
As an E-Designer you obtain the skills to plan and implement design and logistics processes. This includes the development of concepts within marketing, identity, visual solutions, internet-based communication, and product development. An E-Designer’s tool is IT and the course is oriented towards cultural and global contexts in a world where the virtual is also reality.
The course requires that you want to work with IT, design, idea generation, entrepreneurship, culture and trends.
The course consists of compulsory subjects, elective subjects, a company internship and a dissertation project.
The two years are divided into four semesters:
- Semester 1:
idea generation, tools and methods
- Semester 2:
entrepreneurship – the process from idea to reality.
is a specialisation – either graphic design and visual communication (production of brochures, websites, apps and other marketing material) or design of space and interiors (e.g. shop-fitting and other fittings, events, trade fairs, use of space and outdoor areas)
- Semester 4:
consists of a 12-week company internship and a final dissertation project.
The course has the following core study areas:
- Global entrepreneurship:
qualifies you to work in a global context with trends, networks, finance, marketing and brand design.
- Virtual enterprise:
qualifies you to work in virtual organisations and networks with digital technology in design, project management and organisation.
qualifies you to plan and lead the innovation process within design processes and design logistics
- Design qualifies you to master the design process and develop design from a commercial, technological and value-based analysis as well as obtain an understanding of the supply chain’s different agents and their role in the integrated design process
Teaching varies between lectures and classroom instruction. In addition, there is often project work with other students. Students are encouraged to participate in class discussions.
As an E-Designer, you will be qualified to work with the development, sale and marketing of different types of e-design. You can choose to run your own business or perhaps to work as a freelance project member on IT projects.
