The focus is jewellery – from the idea, design and producing to the sold jewellery
The focus of the course is jewellery, both how one makes it in a traditional way by means of modern technology, but also to a much greater extent how jewellery is conceptualised and sold – nationally and internationally.
We focus on the design of jewellery, materials, jewellery concepts, trends, cultural understanding, innovation, marketing and the value and supply chain – in short you gain knowledge of the entire process from the idea to the sold jewellery.
During your course of study you are in close contact with the business community and you write assignments, for example, in collaboration with a business.
Students are taught what function jewellery has and they are also taught about choice of material such as: stone, metal and synthetic materials. In addition students are taught about the jewellery’s form and aesthetics.
Students are taught prototype technology, production technology and they will also look at how technology can be used regardless of whether it is a one-off piece of jewellery or mass produced.
Starting with the value and supply chain you learn to analyse the business’s organisational context which you can use for concept development and optimisation of production and the logistics process.
The trainee period in the 6th semester takes place in a relevant business, where you can try out what you have learned on the course.

- Business & Innovation (15 ECTS)
- Jewellery, concept and identity (15 ECTS)
