For those who want to work with idea generation and business development
With a BA Innovation & Entrepreneurship, you will become a specialist in innovation, entrepreneurship and business development. This programme is for you who would like to master creative processes, project management and entrepreneurship.
During the course of the education, you will be working with different business models and idea generation and master the financial perspectives of your work. You will learn about prototyping, go-to market strategies, management and entrepreneurial ecosystems and networks.
You will experience a project-oriented form of teaching, which includes digital learning materials, group work and individual assignments – all focused on your daily life as an entrepreneur and idea maker. This prepares you for creating your own projects, a life as an entrepreneur and for the various job types found within innovation and business development in established companies
The programme consists of three semesters with a compulsory joint part, a specialized part and an internship and BA project part.
The programme is a 1½-year full time course of study. This means that you are expected to take part in classes during the week. The programme runs over three semesters equivalent to 90 ECTS-points. Each semester has its own course for completion with attendant tests and exams.
Studies mainly consist of theme-oriented projects, workshops and camps. Furthermore, there are written assignments and various activities in connection with teaching, for example guest lectures and the internship.
The themes and workshops are based on collaboration with external companies or cases. Therefore, you are expected to be well prepared and to participate actively in the course activities.
- First semester consists of a compulsory joint part and an elective.

You learn to develop and execute business opportunities in new and existing companies and to implement innovation processes. You have the opportunity to build a personal network and work on the sustainable development of a new or existing company, just as you learn to relate to the connection between resources, relationships, process and results.
Second semester consists of a compulsory joint part and a specialised part in the form of electives. The semester includes the following themes:
- Entrepreneurship economy
- Go-To-Market strategy
- Strategy, management and development
- Scientific theory and method
In this semester you will learn to develop and evaluate business models based on external and market conditions in relation to your own professional knowledge. You can challenge existing models, develop new, sustainable business models, and combine both traditional and innovative models based on customers’ social, cultural and economic interests. In practice, you work on planning and executing specific initiatives within business development.
In the electives, you can specialize in the direction in which you are interested. You are therefore able to define which electives are relevant. Examples of electives:
- Small Data
- Social Entrepreneurship as a business model
- Danish Championship in Entrepreneurship
You will continue with specialisation in the last semester of the
programme. You will be able to test your abilities in practice via your
internship in own company or in an existing innovative company. You are
responsible for finding your own place of internship.
You complete your internship with a bachelor’s report.
As a student at UCL University College you can get an international profile during your study. Depending on your chosen study programme you can go on short international modules, study a semester or do your internship abroad, and participate in international projects.
International knowledge and experience is very useful for you and our society. You will get important insights into other countries’ culture, which will make you very attractive on the Danish and international job market.
Going abroad is an adventure, which will equip you with skills and experiences for life. You will develop your self both professionally and personally, and you will get friends and a network abroad.
One of the things that characterises the study programmes at UCL University College is that you will get a very practice-oriented education. You will e.g. work on practical cases in class, and work on projects with real businesses. However the most practice-oriented factor during the study is the internship, which is an integrated part on all studies at UCL.
The internship is your chance to use and test your knowledge and theory ‘in the real world’. The internship also gives you the opportunity to test what exactly you want to do with your education when you graduate.
When you need to find your first job as a graduate you will not only have theoretical knowledge, but also important experience on how it is to work in your specific field of interest.
The programme gives you three end goals, depending on which electives you choose. You will be able to handle change processes and run development projects as project manager in a private company or public organization as an intrapreneur, work as a cultural and social project manager or you can create your very own business as an entrepreneur.
Typical job titles are:
- Project manager
- Business developer
- Change agent
- Culture entrepreneur
- Social entrepreneur
- Concept/product developer
