The Marketing Management programme will qualify you to independently carry out work within analyzing, planning and implementing solutions that broadly relate to marketing in trade, production and service companies nationally and internationally.

ABOUT EDUCATION


The Marketing Management programme is designed to combine theory with practice. The first three semesters are taught at the academy through a combination of classroom teaching, projects, case studies, guest speakers and company visits. In the fourth semester, theory is applied in practice through an internship in a company of your choice.

Programme Structure

The programme consists of 5 core areas: International Marketing, Economics, Sales and Marketing Communication, Organization and Supply Chain Management and Business Law.

The core areas of the programme take the form of cross-disciplinary components/themes, specialization components, an internship and a Final exam project, totaling 120 ECTS.

CONTENT AND STRUCTURE


The Core Areas:

International Marketing

Here you will learn to do segmentation, identify target audiences and apply positioning for both the Danish and the export markets.

You will gain an understanding of sound business practices and skills in applying marketing-related trade parameters in order to be able to prepare and implement marketing plans on an operational level.

This core area will teach you how to:

  • find professional and interdisciplinary solutions for real-life and marketing issues on the national and international market
  • manage marketing planning for a company, including the economic implications of this
  • demonstrate good business sense in a development-oriented context for a company

Economics

The Economics core area will enable you to contribute to the understanding of the company’s internal and external situation by implementing economic analyses.

By applying analytical tools for economics, you will gain the competencies to support strategic analysis, investment in the company, price setting and budgeting.

This core area will teach you how to:

  • prepare activity budgets including sales forecasts and marketing budgets
  • participate in structuring the company’s earning quality
  • understand the costs, assets and liabilities

Organization and Supply Chain Management

Here you will be introduced to personal leadership and project management tools in order to be able to manage and coordinate projects.

By working innovatively with the optimization of supply chains and distribution channels, you will learn about the company’s business model, resources, competencies and overall organization.

This core area will teach you how to:

  • participate in management and coordination projects
  • participate in the company’s innovation process
  • participate in the company’s flow of goods
  • prepare cultural analyses and compare cultural differences

Business Law

The Business Law core area will give you the knowledge of the overall framework for good business practices. You will achieve the necessary skills to independently select the appropriate legal basis and remain critical to usability.

Moreover, you will have the competencies to assess when the company needs to involve specialist legal knowledge.

This core area will teach you how to:

  • assess whether or not the marketing plan is in compliance with relevant legislation and determine whether it is necessary to involve legal specialists
  • assess problems in relation to contract law
  • assess problems in relation to E-commerce and liability for various company forms

Sales and Marketing Communication

You will learn about cultural differences and their importance, you will work with communication and sales strategies and will have the chance to use both analogue and digital channels.

SPECIALIZATION


In the third semester, you will choose a specialization that will give you the opportunity to improve your study and professional competencies.

Business Management

With a specialization in Business Management, you will learn how a good understanding of business statistics and business economics can strengthen the quality of strategic and marketing decisions. For example, you will learn how an advertisement affects projected sales and how the production should be adapted to this.

Advertising and Online Promotion

With this specialization you will learn the basic tools and skills in creating the visual identity of a company as well as how to plan and execute a media campaign. You will be introduced to professional tools and techniques for graphic design, including Desktop publishing (InDesign), photo editing (Photoshop) and vector design (Illustrator).

Executive Management

With the Executive specialization you will study subjects such as Business Economics where you will learn how business statistics and business economics can strengthen the quality of strategic and marketing decisions. For example how an advertisement affects projected sales and how the production should be adapted to this.

International Business Development

With the Development specialization, you will learn about development in emerging and near markets, innovation, Supply Chain Management, business development and business culture.

Applied Promotion (real life advertising)

With the Promotion specialization, you will learn about modern marketing communication with focus on branding, social media, PR, strategic communication, sales, and journalism.

INTERNASHIP


In order to create the right balance between your theoretical knowledge and your ability to apply it in practice, you must spend three months as an intern in an organization. Through the internship, you will contribute to creating value for the company while also developing your personal and professional competencies.

The internship experience will give you a grate insight on life into the real-business world after graduation.

The aim of the internship is to ensure real-life competencies and the development of professional and personal vocational competencies. 

You will solve practical problems on a methodical basis by using relevant theories and models, and thus creating value for the company.

You will find an internship in close collaboration with your internship counselor, and together with the internship company you will set some framework and criteria for the placement. All internships must be approved by the Academy in order to ensure the quality and relevance of the internship.

Moving abroad for studies can be a big step for you but also a fantastic way to make lifelong friends .

The teaching is a combination of classroom teaching, projects, case studies, guest speakers and company visits. The focus is on evidence drawn from practice.

The first period at your new place of study things can be overwhelming and surprising because a lot of things you have been accustomed to in your home country or from your high school will be different.

There will be many things to consider, both new people and a lot of practical issues. You must learn how to structure your time and prioritize. There will be a requirement that you study full time and work commites with your field of study, this means that you must prepare yourself on your own. You will find several exams during your first year in several different subjects.

SOCIAL ACTIVITIE


You can experience more international and Danish culture by going to international gatherings and parties, debates and other cultural activities on campus.

The Friday Bar

The Friday Bar concept is also very popular among students and is normally held on campus – another fantastic way to make lifelong friends with other students and get actively involved in campus life.
